Problem
The problem with our world is that the effect of climate change has resulted in many droughts. This is a big threat to our economy and our planet in general.
Method
Our method to our problem is to represent a concept to save our economy by rainwater harvesting.
Research
Our research is based on making rainwater harvesting more popular for other peoples usage, and to show how it could improve our economy. This research is not only for getting awareness, but it also educates others on rainwater harvesting. To learn more ways on protections our environment, and helping!
Data
Rainwater harvesting is a process of collecting water through the weather events, such as: snow, hail and most importantly rain. When it rains outside, the water drops down on the roof or the collection area and then falls down into a place called the gutter collection area. After, the water goes through a conduit (pipe) which leads to a water tank, gets filtered (optional) and lastly gets into the recharge facility, where it could lead back inside the house, and get used. While there are all kinds of modern rainwater harvesting systems, collecting rain is an ancient practice. Anthropologists (a scientist that studies human origin, behavior and development) believe that being able to capture and store water went hand-in-hand with the development of agriculture, especially in drier environments. Methods for storing rainwater have been found in communities as far back as Neolithic times, and by 2500 B.C.E. they could be found in what is now Israel, and the Greek island of Crete, and later in the Roman Empire, Istanbul, and Venice.
Conclusion
We hope, that by spreading awareness we can get people to put more thought into using rainwater harvesting. We are both wishing to make a change in this world, especially for our economy. With the making of this research we learned new things enjoyed doing it and spread the word about this water system. We aren't expecting all houses to fully depend on rainwater harvesting, but whenever you have the opportunity to, please try and consider this! Not only it helps the economy, but it also saves the amount of water bills you need to pay!
