Problem
police havent always done their jobs right. by studying different types of forensic sciences we can further help scientists learn what makes a solved case easier or not.
Method
Research on cases and figure out how the murders were solved from cases from the 80s and 90s and compare them to similar cases to 2010s and 2020s cases. We will also research how the victims were justified and all that were affected.
Research
jonebent was in a semisuspine position, pineapple consumed after the time frame where she was declared sleeping, mention paintbrush, Ransome note, pre-broken window, why evidence couldn't be used, which ones could be used and why.
Jeremy was 23, jasmine was 13, (ew) jasmine was posing as 15 online, jeremys friends knew him to be comfortable with death, and also he openly threatened to kill jasmines parents.
Data

JonBenet Ramsey: https://bouldercolorado.gov/jonbenet-ramsey-homicide https://apps.colorado.gov/apps/coldcase/casedetail.html?id=275 Time of Death Estimation: Lividity, the pooling of blood in the lowest parts of the body after the heart stops, typically becomes fixed within several hours of death. Forensic experts use the extent of its development and "gelling" to help determine a time frame for when death occurred. Body Position: The pattern of lividity indicates the position of the body shortly after death. The body of JonBenét Ramsey was found with lividity on her back, suggesting she lay in a supine (face-up) or semi-supine position for a significant period before or as livor mortis became fixed. Body Movement Debate: The location of the lividity was crucial to theories about whether her body was moved after death. If she had been moved after lividity became fixed, the blood pooling would be in a position inconsistent with how she was found in the wine cellar. Specific Markings: A reddish-blue marking on her back was noted in crime scene photos, which some theorize was contact blanching caused by pressure from an object, such as the wooden stick and cord found lying underneath her, indicating she was in that exact position for some time after death.

Research a new case to pair up with the JonBenet Ramsey case. One of the cases for the second pair will be the Medicine Hat Murders. Found a second case to pair with Medicine Hat Murders, which is the Freeman family murders.

January 21, 2026,
Continue to find a similar case to Jonbenet. Signed into CYSF website and completed basic project info. Submitted ethics due care 2A for review and currently waiting for approval. Found a case to pair with Jonbenet, Death of Paulette Gebara Farah (2010)

January 28, 2026 Continue research on the cases and take notes on important details. Connect points of the cases together for similarities and differences. Also fill in some things for CYSF.
February 4, 2026
Listen and read Jonbenet police reports. Research and learn information about the death of Paulette Gebara Farah. Fill some things in for CYSF.

February 11, 2026
Cut down the project from four cases to two cases. Jonbenet and Medicine Hat Murders.
February 18,2026
Work on stuff on the CYSF website and get enough information on cue cards.
Conclusion
We have found out that throughout the years police and forensic scientists have gotten better at there jobs by handling crime scenes more professional and seriously so evidence doesn't get contaminated. This improvement will help victims have justice and for criminals to be arrested.
