What Is The Ozone Layer

I Researched what the Ozone Layer , how it affects us humans , and why it is important .

Problem

Over the years human activities created a hole in the ozone layer. When there is a hole in the ozone layer our earth is no longer protected from the harmful UV rays where the hole is located.

Humans have made chemicals and gases such as CFCs (found in old refrigerators) and aerosols in spray cans which break down ozone molecules in the upper atmosphere.

The chemicals that create holes in the ozone layer are called ozone depleting substances.  These substances break down ozone molecules leading to the holes in the ozone layer.

Cars pollution, cell phones , aerosol hairspray, foam and air conditioning chemicals all contribute to depleting the ozone layer. Most of these items we use in are everyday life. All of these items have contributed to the hole in the ozone layer. So we should try to avoid these objects as much as we can.

Method

I used  google and other websites  . My parent  gave me some ideas my grandpa tate me a little bit about the ozone layer . my granndma also helped me edit .

Research

The ozone layer is the common term for the high concentration of ozone molecules that is found in the earth's stratosphere. The ozone layer protects the earth from the sun's heat.  It is important to know the background of the ozone layer because then you can know why it is so important to our earth!

Ozone concentrations are highest between about 20 and 40 kilometres, where they range from about 2 to 8 parts per million. If all of the ozone were compressed to the pressure of the air at sea level, it would be only 3 millimetres thick .

Data

what is radiaton = is an energy that has magnetic feild and is very bad for earth and the ozone layer.

why should we care = so we can have a healthy comunity and a good life.

why does it mater ,to the earth =so every thing will die with out it ,plants = so they dont die from heat, animals = so they have food and water ,and humens=so we dont get bad diseases.

current status = 10 million sqare miles.

Hypothesis= the hole will be fixsed in 50 to 60 years . conclusen =try to avode harmful idoms . problem =there is a hole in the layer.

Conclusion

My conclusion is that together we can positive change to repair the ozone layer.  We can do this by avoiding the use of harmful gases found in cans and old refrigerators, limiting car pollution, plastic wrap etc, that do not use the bad gases to fix the hole in the ozone layer to protect use from the sun and we can all live a good life!
