When Does Milk Go Bad?

Test different types of milk to see when they go bad.

Hypothesis

I think the first milk to expiry will be the chocolate milk because of the sugar in it. I think the last milk to expiry will be the almond milk because it has no dairy in it.

 

Research

How milk is processed, transported and dated for expiry.  

Variables

Four Types of Milk:
–2%
–Milk to Go
–Chocolate
–Almond
Temperature of Milk
–Cold (Refrigerator, 3C)
–Room Temperature, 20C

 

Procedure

Four types of milk and testing when they go bad. 

Types of Milk: 2 % milk, almond milk, chocolate milk and Milk to Go

Place each type of milk in two containers with one in the fridge and one at room temperature.   Observe the visual changes and smell daily of each sample. 

Compare the actual expiry with the carton expiry date. Take photo to recorded changes

Analysis

Two % went bad first and then milk to go then chocolate and finally almond. 

The milk turns solid as it went bad.

The milk smelled bad as they expired.

Conclusion

By keeping milk cold  it last longer. 

The smell and colour of the milk lets you know when it has gone bad.

Milk at room temperature will go bad in 3-6 days

Cold Milk will last about a week after its expiry date

 

Application

People can keep milk longer depending on What type of milk and where are you store it.

Sources Of Error

Be difficult to determine when the date of the milk goes bad
