What brand of popcorn pops the best? If i pop the popcorn brand Orville Redenbacher then it will have the most unpopped kernels than the other brands. I think this because of the answers i got from the research i  did, by interviewing people to see what their favourite popcorn brand of microwave popcorn is,and a lot of them said that Orville Redenbacher popped the most popcorn kernels.So by my research i think that orville Redenbacher will pop the most kernels so by my reaserch i think that oriville rendenbacher will pop the most kernels and leave the least amout remaining.

How does popcorn pop 

popcorn has two layers the inner layer and the Outer layer,the two layers absorb mosture. Inside the two layers there is a transparent hull its job is to trap the moisture and pressure inside while it heats up.Then the hull will start to crack whitch means that all of the pressure is pushing on the outer layer of the kernel.The pressure of the steam forses kernel to puff into a fluffy edible solid 

Why do some popcorn kerenls pop and some dont 

The reason some popcorn kernels pop and some don't is because there could contain to much water moisture inside the popcorn kernel. The popcorn kernel has to have at least 14-15% moisture inside the hull if it has less or more than it will not pop. 

Dependent Variable

I will count the kernels left over and put them in little bags that will determine what happens at the end of the experiment

Controlled Variable:

I will use the same microwave, the same amount of time for each and all will be  butter flavored.

Independent Variable: 

I am changing the different brand of microwave popcorn i use

1-Gather Materials

2-Put Orville Redenbacher in the microwave

3-Pop for 1:50 minutes 

4-Take it out of the microwave and put into a plastic  bowl 

5-Count the leftover kernels 

6-Finally put the leftover kernels into a Ziplock bag

7-Repeat with the other two brands x2

In conclusion I found that orville redenbacher was the brand that had the least amount of kernels at the end. And from what i know Orville redenbacher has been around the longest so i think over the years they have been perfecting their recipe.

We make popcorn at home all the time and there is always a lot of leftover kernels that are unpopped. Right now food is really expensive so I thought that if i see what brand of popcorn pops the most kernels.Because you would waste say 100 kernels and thats a lot of money wasted but if i found the perfect brand that maybe doesent waste so many kernels.

• Kirkland is only available in big bulk quantities so it was a little bit cheaper per bag. S0 i took the total price of the box and divided it by how many packages in the big box and then times it by it by 3 and the number i got was $1.36

• The inside of the microwave would be hot after i popped the one before so it could pop more because of the heat 

• There could be different expiring dates it might affect the popping
