Hypothesis
In our hypothesis we think“If the number of coil is increased the strength of electromagnet also increases.”
Research
More coil wire means a Stronger electromagnet
More electric current means a Stronger electromagnet
Bigger batteries means a Stronger Electromagnet
Bigger iron nail means a Stronger Electromagnet\
Electromagnets can be turned on and off by connecting the battery,and detaching it.
Electromagnet use electricity, which comes from a battery.
Electromagnets are not permanent,whereas normal magnets are always permanent.
Variables
Responding: Electro magnet
Manipulate: Number of coils, size of battery, and size of nails
Cotnrol: Battery voltage
Procedure
step 1: wrap the wire around the nail
step 2 : then connect to the battery with any metal rod or nail
final step : test it
Observations
The less coil electromagnet picked up the large iron nail 5 - 6 centimeters above the level.
The more coil electromagnet picked up the large iron nail 20 centimeters above the level.
Analysis
Experement # 1 more coil:in my obsesvations,I saw the less coil electromagnet pick up the large iron nail high as 5 - 6 centimeters.
Experiment # 2 more coil : in my observations,I saw the more coil electromagnet pick up the large iron nail high as 20 centimeters.
Conclusion
Electromagnet is used everywhere, including your kitchen, vehicles etc.
These magnets are changing the world everyday, and everywhere. Electromagnets are helping humans by helping them lift heavy objects, example is a crane lifting heavy cars,scrap metal and engines without using human power. Our hypothesis was correct.
Application
Sources Of Error
When we tried to make the electromagnet for the first time, it failed horribely becuase we didn't know how to wrap the coil around the nail, and how connect it to the battery.
