Problem

Without trees no living soul would be alive today. Let's just say without breathing your doomed. So when you think about a tree you think its common but it's so much more special, it keeps your day to day running safely. Also animals will soon become extinct and the world wouldn't be the same because we use animals as protein. So not only can we not breathe but we will STARVE. For an average person you would die within 90 seconds. However if you are a water animal you are fine. But if you are a land animal you are at risk. But it impacts species like humans, owls, koala's, monkeys and more. Amazon Rainforest is a thick, tropical forest full of giant trees and amazing animals found nowhere else in the world. If deforestation keeps increasing, the Amazon could dry out and turn into empty, flat land with no life. Cutting down trees means we lose oxygen that trees give us, and more carbon dioxide goes into the air. It also harms the water cycle, which can cause less rain and more damage to the environment.Stakeholders are like what would be impacted/affected by deforestation. One the wildlife would be affected in the scene that animals will become extinct and us humans no longer have their protein will eventually lead to death! Someday habitats will be ruined because of the shortess of trees and some land animals make their habitats in the trees. Also this somewhat affects the humans that use wood in their companies such as builders and stuff like that. If there are NO material of wood barely anything would be built such a shelter like houses, apartments and other sturdy structures.

Method

A very efficient idea we came up with was reading books about deforstation. Books help you get a better understanding of what you're talking about. I suggest the book The Great Kepok tree it gave us a real true idea of the animals in the amazon and so much more. Reasearching different topics is a great idea. That is also another reason why we have so many topics to discuss. We try to research as much as possible and then after we write down all of the information we gathered. We tried many sources which you will see on our trifold. We met up at the library several times to work on science fair. we got many family members to edit our slides to make sure they were good. We did not use so much though we did use ai to give us an inspiration for our topic

Research

Deforestation is when people cut down forests on purpose and do not replace the trees. This happens often to make space for farming, To get what are fuel wood buildings,or to build homes and cities, forests can also be destroyed quickly by natural disasters such as wildfires, tornadoes and cyclones. People do deforestation in central Africa , South East Asia , Malaysia, parts of North America such as  Canada, and parts of Asia. The most upsetting part, is that people use deforestation to make money by selling the wood or using the land for farming because it helps business. The Amazon rainforest is the biggest world known rainforest that is tropical. It's about 1,200 miles! This is one of the earth’s best vital ecosystems ( Natural systems, like forests, wed ground, and so on). This rain forest is located in Brazil. Not only does the Amazon encompass the single largest remaining tropical rainforest in the world, it also houses at least 10% of the world’s known biodiversity, and its river accounts for 15-16% of the world’s total river discharge into the oceans.  The Amazon River flows for more than 6,600 km, and with its hundreds of fish the river has the most amount of species of fish in just one river. Stakeholders are like what would be impacted/affected by deforestation. Deforestation will also impact the ground. The Amazon rainforest is one of the most important forests in the world because it helps control the Earth’s water cycle. Millions of trees release water into the air, forming “rivers” of moisture in the atmosphere. These help control weather patterns around the planet. When forests are cut down, less water goes into the air. This means less rain returns to the soil. As a result, the soil becomes dry, and it becomes harder for crops to grow. The roots of these amazing trees will wither and die, there will be nothing left to hold the earth in place when the rain gets heavy, the soil will be washed away and soon the forest will become a desert. When large areas of forest are cleared, the land is left exposed and begins to break down. Many animal habitats are destroyed, and Indigenous communities who live in these forests are also put at risk. The loss of forests has a direct effect on their way of life. Many Indigenous people depend on the forest for food, medicine, materials to build homes, and important cultural traditions. Deforestation affects human rights, especially for Indigenous groups who live in and protect the forests. These communities often have very little power to decide what happens to their land. Governments and companies may change the environment without their permission. At the same time, these communities are the ones who suffer most from damage to the land and from climate change. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air through photosynthesis. Healthy forests are very important because they store large amounts of carbon, which helps slow down climate change. Forests absorb billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide each year and keep huge amounts of carbon in their leaves, branches, roots, and soil. When forests are cut down, they stop storing carbon and instead release it into the air. This makes climate change worse and causes global temperatures to rise. Today, emissions caused by rainforest loss are very high, almost as much as those produced by the United States. Deforestation also increases the risk of wildfires. People often burn plants and trees, which can spread out of control. These fires destroy even more forests, making the problem even worse. Mainly our food sources will die because of the deforestation and that would lead to unhealthy eating that will soon end in a starving situation. But even before that we would die within 1 min to 2 minutes so it doesn’t even lead to starvation. However oxygen is made up of 90% of waters of the world. Oxygen makes up to 21% of earth's atmosphere. Oxygen takes up ⅔ of humans mass. The Amazon Rainforest has an estimated amount of 390 billion trees in the area. When we ask how deforestation affects the environment, we also see that it affects people. When trees and whole forests are destroyed, people’s homes are destroyed too. Indigenous communities who live in forests depend on them to survive. When forests are cut down, their houses and resources are lost. This forces many of these communities to move to other places and find new ways to live. The Amazon rainforest is home to over one million Indigenous people from more than 400 different tribes. Many live in villages near rivers, where they grow crops and hunt for food. Some tribes have very little contact with the outside world and live closely with nature. Deforestation is making life harder for these communities. As forests are cut down, many tribes are forced to move. Some move into land used by other tribes, which puts pressure on natural resources. Others are pushed into cities, where they must completely change the way they live. Now it also affects homes because if we deforestate so much that wood will become less and our houses will not have furniture with wood. Also pencils and paper include wood so there are many reasons. Deforestation removes trees. The Amazon forest is filled with a lot of animal species including the ones that make their homes in the trees or on the branches. For example birds make their nests on trees most of the time. They use twigs for their nests so where would we find good twigs if there were no trees? Some animals literally  live in trees such as squirrels. And some live on top of trees like monkeys and sloths. This also will affect their eating because trees grow fruits such as berries, figs and mangos; without trees what will they eat? There are a lot of endangered animals in the rainforest due to deforestation it can cause animals to go extinct. Sloths are tree dwelling animals that are active mostly at night and eat plants. They are some of the coolest warm blooded animals, with a body temperature of about 92°F. Sloths usually live high up in the trees but sometimes go down to the forest floor to find food or other resources. They can live up to about 40 years. However, deforestation is a serious threat to sloths. When forests are cut down, sloths lose their homes and food sources. This habitat loss is one of the main reasons sloths are at risk of extinction. We all probably know that sloths are very slow animals now just imagine how their lives would be without trees? They would be slow medium sized animals crawling on the forest floor which it would make it easy for them to get hurt by prey like jaguars. One major effect of deforestation is how it harms food security by reducing biodiversity. When forests are cleared, Indigenous people and animals lose important food sources. Deforestation also changes weather patterns and damages the soil, which makes it harder to grow crops. People who live near tropical forests are affected the most. Many of them depend on farming to survive. When deforestation happens, it becomes harder for them to grow enough food and protect their crops from damage. It also harms the water cycle, which can cause less rain and more damage to the environment. One thing we could do is replant trees in the areas where trees were cut down. Also we could save as much paper as we can, we can do this by doing double sided drawings and writings. Recycling more could keep us environmentally safe. Governments can make rules that you can no longer cut down live trees. Using would from sustainable forests is also a great idea. Teaching people about the forests so they can take action in helping our environment. People often say that copying something is a way of showing respect. When it comes to building materials, many products copy wood because wood looks nice and is strong. Wood is popular for buildings, so other materials are made to look like it.Wood comes from trees, which can grow back, but there is still a limit to how much wood we have. Because of this, people have created other building materials to use instead of wood. These materials can look and work like wood, but they may be better for the environment and easier to make in large amounts without harming forests.

Data

Some data I have is deforstation is when people cut down trees on purpose to make space for farmland and other stuff like that. I also read a book about deforstaion and it had fascinating facts about how the animals are dying because of this and how animals have to relocate because trees are being cut down at the moment. Deforstation is a major discussion for many poeple because this affects are qualities, climate change and different species of animals it also affects us humans. Without trees we would survive 1-2 minutes maximum because we wouldn't be able to breathe. Animals would also die so we wouldn't have proper protein leading to an unhealthy diet which would soon end in a starving matter. Deforstation harms our enviroment and many species. We also have graphs about the deforestation rate that we can explain we also have a graph for where it affects the indeginous people more. We also talk about specific animals and how there affected by deforestaition.

Conclusion

Deforestation is when people kill trees on purpose. These affect animals habitats, food, soil and rainfall. When trees dies a lot of animals lose their homes and they become a target to their prey and they die. Trees also grows fruits and berries sometimes which is the food of many species. There are also other thing you can use to work as wood or just use fake wood.Deforestation is affecting animal species. This also affect the animals like we mentioned before and if we don't have enough animals we no longer have proper protein leading to starvation and its bad for your diet if you have no protein.
