Hypothesis
We think that the hot basketball will have a higher bounce than the cold Basketball. We think that because, the hot basketball is gonna have more air pressure and is gonna have more elasticity, due to the fact that rubber stretches and air expands while under hot temperatures. However the cold basketball will lose its air due to the cold, as the air pressure decreases.
Research
We did research on words like elasticity, variables, such as independent which means that (WILL STAY) the same. The other variable is Manipulated variable which means that (WILL CHANGE). And the last is responding which are the results OR what happened. We researched our graphs and made sure that they were correct.
Variables
Independent variable:
- Type of basketball used
- Height the basketball was dropped from
Manipulated Variable:
- Temperature of basketball
Responding variable:
- Height the basketball bounces after impact with the ground
Procedure
- Collect materials that are being used in the experiment.
- Apply heat to the basketball for 2-3 minutes via hairdryer.
- Drop the basketball from a height of 7 feet.
- Record results
- Put basketball in a tub of ice packs and cold water for 2-3 minutes.
- Drop the basketball from a height of 7 feet.
- Record results
- Repeat both experiments 3 times.

Conclusion
So we can conclude that the hot basketball has a higher bounce rate than the cold basketball due to the elasticity. The hot basketball has its own advantages and disadvantages, and so does the cold basketball.
Application
There are many places where this project can be used such as playing basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, etc. If i have a flat ball in basketball the cold temperature can cause the ball to lose air inside, which will cause it to deflate. In soccer if you kick a ball that is deflated it won't fly as far. It most likely happened because you left the ball out in the cold.
Sources Of Error
We made some mistakes on the title such as spelling errors, some were on like materials. The slides werent in order on the trifold (SOME).
