Hypothesis
My Hypothesis is based on creating lightning in a jar. I think if i rub a balloon on my head it will create static electricity, then put the balloon on the metal wire that's in the jar, there will be visible electricity which will resemble real lightning but not as strong as real lightning.
Research
Lightning in a jar demonstrates how static electricity can create electrical discharges. Static electricity builds up when electrical charges accumulates on the conductor. When the voltage reaches really high the electrical field forces Electrons to jump through the wire inside the jar. This ionizes the conductor that you're using to activate the lightning or the static electricity, this produces glowing branching paths similar to real lightning although this lightning or electricity is weaker than real lightning but they both have the same principles.
Variables
Dependent variables: the wires.
Independent variable: the jar.
Control variable: it was not as i expected it was invisible but I was able to hear it
Procedure
First Step, I got a jar, place a small piece of copper wire in the jar and covered it with foil ,I made sure a part of the wire is sticking out of the jar through the foil on the top, then get a balloon fill it with air, then rub it on your head/hair. After then place the balloon near the part of the wire thats sticking out, then the static electricity travels through the wire.
Observations
I wasn't able to see much, but when I rubbed the balloon on my head and put it near the jar and wire I heard a spark and some what also felt it. It was the best experiment iv done in my life.
Analysis
I wasn't able to see much, but when I rubbed the balloon on my head and put it near the jar and wire I heard a spark and some what also felt it. It was the best experiment iv done in my life.
Conclusion
My project never worked as I thought so I think I needed to add more power to see the electricity for example a battery. So my protections were not the best this time but maybe next time
Application
I had to change the wire a couple of times from raw metal wire to aluminum wire all the way to copper wire I had to change the different kind of wires in tell I could get one that can control electricity.
Sources Of Error
The source of error was basically the same thing as the application how I had to change the wire a couple of times from raw metal wire to aluminum wire all the way to copper wire I had to change the different kind of wires in tell I could get one that can control electricity.

The people that helped me was my cousin's without them I wouldn't no how tho do any of this I don't even think that I would be in the city science fair without them.
