Problem

What makes a person a psychopath?

Method

1. Find information that is based on our main question.
2. Look for facts that are true.

Research

Something that makes a person have a degree of psychopathy is that areas of the brain (e.g, amygdala, insula, etc.) show less or reduced activity in people that have psychopathic characteristics when they see people who are in sorrow or when they try to learn consequences of their actions. The damaged functioning of those areas in the brain affects the abilities of people.

Data

Answer to our questionSomething that makes a person have a degree of psychopathy is that areas of the brain (e.g, amygdala, insula, etc.) show less or reduced activity in people that have psychopathic characteristics when they see people who are in sorrow or when they try to learn consequences of their actions. The damaged functioning of those areas in the brain affects the abilities of people.

Fun facts!                                                                                                                                                                                                                        -  1.Female psychopaths are different than male psychopaths. Female psychopaths appear more open to anxiety, emotional problems, etc. than male       psychopaths.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        2. A person who has a level of psychopathy have little to consider for safety issues, especially for other people’s safety.                                               3. Don’t experience true emotions, but can mimic other people’s emotions.                                                                                                                         4. People who have to deal with psychopathy  don't care about any other responsibility for hurting other people’s feelings.                                                5. Psychopaths think that rules and laws don’t apply to them.

Conclusion

Summary : Since psychopathy is defined as a mental disorder/lack of offensive behaviour, we think that our hypothesis is wrong. We think that our hypothesis is wrong because a person’s behaviour cannot just change unexpectedly if they cannot experience any feelings.

Acknowledgement

I would like to express my special thanks of appreciation to my teacher, Mrs.Atabayeva as well as cordinator, Mr.Maruyama and my special partner named Samia Amir. Without them I would not be able to get the oportunity to this project on our science project (What Makes a Person a Psychopath?) which helped me learn a lot of new and fun things about our topic!
