Hypothesis

Our big question is "Do plants grow differently around different music?". Our hypophysis is that the plant will not grow differently, because why would the plant grow differently around music?

The plant doesn't have ears like us humans, so we assume that the vibrations and music from the speaker will not impact the growth of the plant.

Research

Our research so far is that the music changes the growth of plant because the smooth sounds and gentle vibrations from the classical music may have helped the plant move water and nutrients more efficiently. The small sound vibrations gently shake the plant cells, so water and nutrients can move through the plant more easily. This process helps the stems and leaves grow stronger and healthier.

Although plants do not have ears, they can still sense vibrations around them. The tiny sound waves created by the music travel through the air and into the plant allowing it to respond to the vibrations. This may also cause the plant to absorb water and nutrients faster that it normally would.

That is why plants grow faster, and differently around music.

Variables

Stayed the same: Pot, Soil, Water.

Changed: Seed, Sunlight, Changed plants growth with music.

Manipulated:Amount of water, location, timing of music, what type of music.

Procedure

We will plant two cress seeds that get the same amount of water and sunlight. But one of the seeds will be exposed to classical music, while the other one will not have any source of music.Every day we will play the music around for 3 hours and 28 minutes a day.

Once the plants are fully grown,we will include the results of the plant's growth and how long it took them to fully sprout, even to see what we may have thought the music had done to the plants and if it even did anything in general.

We will show the result after the two plants have grown fully.

Observations

What we have seen so far is that the plant that was not exposed to music is that it was taking much longer to sprout and grow, but the plant that was exposed to music sprouted almost right away.

Analysis

The plant with music has been growing much faster and the one with no music has been much slower to even sprout,it seems like the plant with music will be faster at growth.

Conclusion

We have come to the conclusion that the plant with the music has grown faster than the plant that has not been exposed to music.Which that has shown us that it's all about the vibrations that keep the plants cells moving, which can help with moving the water and nutrients through the stem and leaves.

Application

Since we did an experiment about biology, and plants we can add this to our daily lives when you plant something, you can play music for it to be stronger, maybe change a different color, or faster. All these features can help growing a plant easier and stronger.

Sources Of Error

What can cause an error is the lack of water, sunlight, pressure change, forget to play the music, and temperature drop. But we can stop this by remembering to water, keep in the same sunlight spot, keeping the temperature at a comfortable level, and set reminder for the music.

The sites we had used were google to search up what NASA had record of data, then we use NASA website,we used a science textbook, and we had help with our teacher.
