Problem
The issues that my website fixes include ignorance of the proper care requirements (diet, health, grooming, exercise, environment), untrustworthy online information, difficulty spotting early symptoms of illness for animals or pets, a lack of easily accessible, species-specific information on the web, and uncertainty for first time or new animal owners. In conclusion, there isn't a single, trustworthy, and accesible resource for animal owners to learn how to properly care for their pets, which causes confusion, stress, and avoidable health problems.
Method
Method
- First I chose the animal I wanted to research for my project.
- I researched the animal using books, educational websites, and trusted online sources to learn about its habitat, diet, behaviour, and interesting facts.
- I organized my research notes and selected the most important information to include on my website.
- I created an account and set up my website using Weebly, which is a website building platform.
- I chose a website template and adjusted the layout to match my project theme.
- I created different pages on my website to organiz information, such as facts, habitat, and fun learning sections.
- I added my researched information to each page and checked that the information was accurate and easy to understand.
- I incorporated simple coding features to create interactive mini-games and trivia questions related to my animal.
- I tested the mini-games and trivia multiple times to make sure they worked correctly.
- I decorated the website by adding images, colours, and design elements that matched my animal and made the website visually appealing.
- I reviewed my website several times to fix mistakes and improve readability.
- Finally, I shared and presented my completed website as my science fair project.
Analysis
Analysis
During this project, I noticed that adding interactive features such as mini-games and trivia made the website more engaging and helped present information about the animal more effectively. Visual elements like images and colours also made the information easier to understand and remember. From this project, I learned more about my animal as well as skills in website design and basic coding. I also learned that interactive learning tools can help people stay interested and understand information better.
Conclusion
The goal of this project was to create an educational website that teaches people about an animal using research and interactive activities. Through researching the animal and building the website I successfully made a website. The project showed that adding interactive elements like games and an AI agent can help make learning more interesting and easier understand. I also learned important skills such as researching reliable information, designing a website, and using basic coding. If I were to continue this project, I would improve the website by adding more interactive features, videos, and additional information to make it even more educational and engaging.
